Connect to ChatGPT
Connect ConstruChain Vision or ConstruChain Tracker to ChatGPT to ask questions about your BIM models and construction projects. Each product uses its own connection.
The ConstruChain connectors have not yet been approved or published in the public directories. Add a custom remote MCP connection for now.
Choose your connection

Use the complete URL, including the final /mcp. Repeat the process with the other URL to connect both products.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need your own ConstruChain account and access to the data you want to query:
- Vision: an active subscription or trial and a workspace with at least one processed model with available property data.
- Tracker: permission to authorize the connection and access to the intended projects. You select projects during authorization; none are selected by default.
OpenAI currently documents developer mode on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts. Workspace policies may also restrict connections. Check availability in your account first. Official developer mode documentation.
Add the server
Section titled “Add the server”- In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode.
- Open ChatGPT Plugins, select +, then provide a name, a short description and the URL for your chosen product.
- Use OAuth authentication and automatic client registration when that choice appears. Leave client ID and client secret empty. ConstruChain does not require an API key for this connection.
- Continue to ConstruChain authorization. Sign in with your own account, review the requested access and authorize. For Tracker, select only the projects you want this connection to access.
- Return to ChatGPT and review the discovered tools.
Labels can vary with your interface language and version. The server setup follows OpenAI’s official connection guidance.
Use the connection
Section titled “Use the connection”In the current plugin flow, open your personal plugin and install it with +. Start a Work conversation and use @ to select ConstruChain Vision or ConstruChain Tracker. Official installation and usage flow.
If your interface shows a developer-mode app instead, select Developer mode from the conversation’s + menu and enable the ConstruChain app. OpenAI also documents this flow in its developer mode guide.
Start with a list request to check access:

Choose a result by name before continuing. In Vision, ask which properties are available, then base your questions on those properties. In Tracker, ask for current progress or available schedule versions and identify the project and dates you want to compare.

Review actions and results
Section titled “Review actions and results”Tracker is read-only: a conversation does not change progress, schedules or project records. Vision queries properties without modifying models or geometry, but it can publish a dashboard. Request publication explicitly and review its content and visibility before approving the action. Providing an existing dashboard allows its content to be replaced.
Query results are sent to the ChatGPT conversation. Share only data you are authorized to use with that platform. Check the model or project, period and cited versions before using a response for a decision. Missing history should be reported as unavailable.
Disconnect when needed
Section titled “Disconnect when needed”Open the connection details in ChatGPT and use the available disconnect or remove option. To review ConstruChain authorization, check your account’s connection options or contact support.
Revoking authorization stops future access through the connection. It does not automatically delete results already sent to ChatGPT or dashboards already published.
If sign-in expires or expected access is missing, follow the connection help. Never paste your password, authorization codes or credentials into a conversation.
