Getting started with Vision

ConstruChain Vision organizes BIM models and their properties by workspace and project. You can analyze these data with ChatGPT or Claude and publish dashboards in Vision when you request them.

Open Vision

  • A ConstruChain account with access to the workspace and project you want to use.
  • An active subscription or trial to use the MCP integration.
  • A model with processed properties. It can come from an Autodesk integration or a native IFC upload, where that feature is enabled for your workspace.

Native IFC uploads do not require an Autodesk connection to extract properties. Availability depends on the workspace; see Models and IFC.

  1. Sign in to Vision and choose the correct workspace.
  2. Find the project and check the name and status of the model you want to analyze. Finishing an upload and finishing processing are separate steps.
  3. Set up a custom connection in ChatGPT or Claude.
  4. Ask the assistant to list the available models. Choose a model using the name and project shown in the results.
  5. Ask it to inspect the available properties before calculating indicators.

A useful first request:

List the BIM models available in Vision. Show the project and name of each model and wait for my choice before querying its properties.

After choosing:

Inspect this model’s properties. Count elements by category or class, using whichever field actually exists. Report missing fields and do not estimate values.

Answers depend on the properties included in the import. Check units, missing values and the source model before using results to make decisions.

Request publication after reviewing the indicators:

Publish a dashboard of this analysis with workspace access. Include the analyzed model, units and data limitations. Do not create a public link.

The dashboard contains a snapshot of the queried data. To refresh its charts, request a new query and an update to the dashboard. A dashboard with a linked 3D view requires a processed model with a compatible Autodesk reference; for native IFC, request a standalone dashboard.

See the MCP tools, sharing options and limits. If your model is missing or the connection fails, follow the help guide.
