Progress and snapshots

Use Data Tracker to consult items and Progress Tracking to understand progress summaries. Start by confirming the project and discipline. The available filters and data respect your account access.

  1. Open Data Tracker and confirm the selected project and discipline.
  2. Consult the items that make up the scope you need.
  3. Open Progress Tracking and check the same filters.
  4. Choose an available context for the analysis.
Interface context How to interpret it
Status Progress Item distribution by status and progress by module, according to the discipline and project rules
Overall Earned Earned quantities and hours, when these data exist for the selected scope
Weld / NDE Progress Welding and testing progress, when this context is available for the project

In Module Progress, use Filter modules… to find a module. An empty result may mean the filter has no match; check the search term and project before concluding that no data exists.

A percentage based on item statuses is not necessarily the same percentage calculated from quantities or hours. Earned hours represent progress measured by project rules; they must not automatically be treated as actual labor hours or P6 schedule hours.

When sharing an analysis, include the discipline, unit and context used. Do not add quantities with different units or apply one completion rule to every discipline.

The MCP connection can list real weekly snapshot dates, search items within one snapshot and compare two snapshots of the same discipline. See the tool list.

  1. List the available snapshots for the project and discipline.
  2. Choose two dates returned by the tool and check the reported completeness.
  3. Request a comparison using those exact dates.
  4. Keep the sources and any gaps in the answer.

List the available weekly snapshots for the selected project, by discipline, and report the completeness of each date. Do not estimate missing dates.

Compare the two snapshots I selected for the same discipline. Report the dates, metric, values in each snapshot, change and any coverage limitations.

To locate items:

Search the items in the module I specify, using the project’s current state and selected discipline. Show the applied filters and continue pagination if more results are available.

Current records may have changed after the latest snapshot. A weekly comparison requires two real snapshots; it does not create daily history or reconstruct unrecorded dates. Missing or inaccessible information must be reported as unavailable, not converted to zero.

If results are paginated or truncated, the first page does not necessarily represent all items. Request subsequent pages before drawing conclusions about the total. Cost fields may only be used when they are available and authorized for the connection.

To compare published schedules, follow Schedules and memories. For access or data issues, see Help.
